Zoho CRM : Free for Small Biz

One oft overlooked fact is that of Zoho CRM offering the first 3 users as free. If you are running a small business, Zoho CRM is the ideal fit for you. What’s more, all the features of the priced edition (which is just $12 / month from the fourth user onwards) are available in the free edition as well. Check out Zoho CRM now.

There’s been a lot of feedback since we removed the "Mass Emailer" option. Our
sincere apologies. This feature was being misused for spamming by a very few and this affected Zoho as a whole. We will be re-introducing it with some controls soon. Kindly bear with us till then.

And there’s an exciting major update of CRM coming up this month-end. Am not going to say anything about it other than this teaser : it involves some sort of integration with another Zoho service

Google and Salesforce Poised for Deal

This will be a significant deal if it goes ahead: Google and Salesforce are said to be in talks about a partnership against Microsoft. If it goes ahead, the alliance will be announced in the next few weeks. There’s been speculation in the past that Google could buy the successful CRM company, but now an anti-Microsoft alliance seems more likely.

The obvious outcome, as the WSJ speculates today, would be integrating Google’s web-based office apps (Docs and Spreadsheets, Gmail, Gtalk etc) with the tools offered by Salesforce. The pair already partnered in August 2006 to create "Salesforce for Google AdWords".

Salesforce Integrates with Skype

Skype and Salesforce announce today their new version of Skype made for Salesforce using their AppExchange program.

Skype for Salesforce provides Skype integration into the Salesforce on-demand Customer Relationship Management applications, looking to improve productivity, streamline communication and strengthen relationships with clients and colleagues. As Skype becomes more widely used for both personal and business purposes, integrating Skype further into Salesforce’s services is beneficial for its users. The actual Skype service offerings are similar to what you get as a regular Skype user, with free calls to other Skype users and the option to add unlimited SkypeOut calling.

Skype for Salesforce also integrates with Salesforce’s computer telephony adapter to enable click-to-call for phone number of those listed within Salesforce SFA applications. Most useful may be the feature enabling inbound Skype calls from parties listed within Salesforce to automatically display the user’s record, allowing the Salesforce user to add notes and better track their activities, which can also be used for future reference.

Model Metrics is among the first companies to utilize Skype’s new Salesforce offerings. With the integration of Skype into an enterprise solution such as Salesforce, it may be more beneficial to use in this manner as opposed to installing VoIP as a replacement for business phone systems. This replacement option is something that many businesses are wary of, so it’s smart of Skype to present their services through Salesforce’s existing system.
